- Ned Poole Review added: 2018.07.31★ ★ ★ ★ ☆A relaxing walk from Wimborne centre along the river with some great wildlife- herons fishing lazily by the riverbank, swans giving their cute cygnets a piggyback and water voles a common sight if you look carefully.
There’s a continuous chorus of birdsong as you stroll towards the bridge with the distinct echoing sound of woodpeckers amongst the tallest trees.
The Riverbank by the bridge itself is great for catching sticklebacks in a jar or watching your four legged friend doggy paddle in the endless pursuit of ball or stick...
Even better is to continue over the bridge and across the meadow to the Lamb’s Green for lunch - this makes a perfect round trip but do watch out the young bulls in the field- they can be a little too friendly!!
